Work with this material is recommended for children aged six and up and introduces them to the parts of speech in the form of representations. The narration of Maria Montessori's story—presented here in a very free and personal version—provides the opportunity to create a magical moment that captures the group's collective attention and prepares the child for subsequent work with grammatical analysis. The LENAS materials are the result of a collaboration between Montessori Craft and the Montessori Foundation Italy with Francesca Collovà, a creative expert and passionate teacher of Italian in primary school.

Description

A polyester felt envelope contains the silhouettes of the nine parts of speech of the Italian language, as conceived by Maria Montessori for her story The Country of Grammar. Made of colored PMMA, they have a small hole for attaching them to the waxed cotton cord that completes the set. The envelope also includes a leaflet illustrating the possible uses of the material.
