This rich material is presented to the child starting from approximately 5 years of age, when the interest in words arises and when the child has already worked with grammatical symbols. The grammatical boxes are marked with different colors depending on the part of speech on which the work is focused at the time. The color of each compartment box does not necessarily correspond to the color of the corresponding grammatical symbol (MLN-0025.1/MLN-0025.3), a choice made by Maria Montessori herself in order to avoid that, in the child's work, the color itself prevails over the reasoning. The only invariable color correspondence is with respect to the noun (black) and the verb (red).

Description

4 wooden boxes, each with a variable number of small compartments (all with a pocket for inserting a card) and one large one. The boxes are each a different color depending on the part of speech represented. The first series includes the boxes relating to the first 4 parts of speech: noun/article, adjective, verb, preposition.
