This material can be used from seven years onwards, when the child is already acquainted with the grammatical symbols. It offers the opportunity to deepen the knowledge of the speech parts with the precious guide of hand activity. The muscular movement, as Maria Montessori already taught us and as neuro scientific research now shows, affirms and strengthens the mind’s work. LENAS materials come forth from the collaborations between Montessori Craft and Fondazione Montessori Italia with Francesca Collovà, a creative expert teacher who is particularly interested in teaching Italian in primary school.

Description

A wooden box with two compartments contains a wooden hedgehog template with holes and the parts of speech engraved, to be placed onto a rotating disc (no metal parts). Nine flat wooden shapes, with the Montessori symbols of speech attached on the side of relative speech, also have holes and are engraved to allow the child to analyse the chosen part of speech by putting wooden pegs into the holes. All wooden parts, except for the pegs, have a UNI EN 71-3 finishing whereas the speech symbols are made of coloured PMMA and attached by an inox steel chain. At the moment this material is available for the Italian language.
