The hollowed letters have been created so as to allow a small child, 3-4 years old, to express its potentials by working exactly there where development of language is most favourable. The aim of the material is to help the child to fix the form of each letter in its muscle memory and to fix the corresponding sound in its hearing memory. This work, which follows the activity with the language insets (LI01), sharpens the manual coordination and is an excellent preparation for reading. As Maria Montessori observes, that is the next step.

Description

Filing cabinet with capital letters alphabet, engraved. The vowels are engraved on a tablet with a red background, the consonants on a blue background. The package contains a stick to introduce the movement of writing. With this material the child can follow the direction of writing with the finger or the stick thanks to a tactile guide. External dimensions of the tablets: 13x26 cm.
