This alphabet can be used with children who have started to work with the hollowed letters, when they recognise all the vowels and at least ten consonants. Once their minds are ready to compose a word, the children can associate the sounds to the letters. This work is excellent as preparation for reading which, as Maria Montessori observed, will be developed afterwards.
