Pikler furniture takes its name from the Hungarian pediatrician Emmi Pikler, a theorist of free motor skills. Placed in Montessori nursery environments, they guarantee the small child, in maximum safety, the possibility of holding on to stand up and, once able to make more complex movements, climb, step over and experiment with different ways of moving in space. The activity with the Pikler triangle, limiting the intervention of the adult thanks to its intrinsic characteristics of stability and attractiveness of the shape, also strengthens the child's self-esteem and confidence in moving through space.
