The work of pouring is invaluable for the acquisition of multiple skills. It is offered to the child starting, approximately, from 18 months, initially with solid objects of progressively decreasing size (cork stoppers, walnuts, hazelnuts, rice, etc.). The work of decanting allows the child to acquire the ability to hold attention and concentration, to evaluate the quantity, to measure; it also develops hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills. It refines the grasping ability in the hand, indirectly preparing the skills of handwriting.
