This material refines the child’s ability to visually distinguish colours and figures. Like other Montessori materials for very small children, this material helps to develop concentration, will, intelligence. The cubes and parallelepipedons in relation between each other give a practical representation of algebraic formulae (a+b), the generic binomial cube. Cubes and parallelepipedons can be freely combined and observed, also making seriations in relationship to various dimensions. This sensorial material is an important preparation for mathematics and algebra.
