This material can be introduced when the child has become acquainted with the cylinder blocks and colour tablets, starting from the yellow cylinders and proceeding to the red,blue and at last green ones. As other sensorial materials the coloured cylinders sharpen many abilities: gross and fine motoric skills, eye-hand coordination, visual perception through the education of sight with reference to dimension. It also develops the seriation ability and offers the child important keys to understand the environment expressed on various levels, including the logical-mathematical level.

Description

The material includes 4 wooden boxes with coloured lids, each one containing ten solid wooden cylinders in the colours yellow, red, green and blue. The four sets,like the cylinder blocks, are of increasing difficulty: that is why they are to be used in progression, as the child acquires further abilities. All wooden parts have UNI EN 71-3 finishing.

USE IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER MATERIALS This material is often used in combination with the cylinder blocks (SE21) because the mobile elements have the same size. Working with the coloured cylinders enables the child to make more complex constructions.
