This material can be used from the age of 3 years onwards, often in combination with the plane insets (GF01, GF02, GF03). With the sandpaper globe the child not only explores visually but also at a sensorial level by touching, getting a clear idea of the relationship between land and sea. When the globes are used together with the plane insets the child can compare the two different geographic representations and then gradually and naturally proceed towards the abstract plane representation.

Description

The globe is made of light blue high quality plastic with a rough sand surface representing land. The globe rotates on a metal pin, positioned with the same inclination as the earth’s axis on a white solid wooden base.
